This set consists of a 2019 1/4oz proof quality Krugerrand with a privy mark of the lost hoard logo and an 1893-1900 ‘Lost Hoard’ Kruger Pond. Also included is a Lost Hoard booklet by South African numismatist, Professor Francois Malan. All this is packaged in a replica of the original money bag in which the coins remained hidden for more than a century.

As one of the rarest, most enchanting products in
	numismatic history, the origin of the ‘Kruger Millions’
	legend dates back to 1902, when calculations by the
	Transvaal Chamber of Mines indicated that a substantial
	portion of the gold mined during the early part of the
	Boer War could not be accounted for.
	
The appeal of the missing gold makes the recent
	discovery of a large parcel of the Kruger pond a
	significant find, and one that many a numismatist or
	collector would treasure.
	
Named ‘the Lost Hoard’ by the numismatic community,
	this discovery was stored in the Netherlands during the
	early 20th century, and then transferred to Switzerland
	before the Second World War (1939-1945)for safekeeping.
	It remained in a Swiss vault for decades, until it was
	recently sold at an auction.
	
Now in the possession of the South African Mint, each of
	the 910 coins have been individually graded, certified and
	slabbed, and their authenticity independently verified and
	graded. The certification confirms the authenticity, legal
	tender status (1893-1900) as well as the correct weight of
	each individual coin.
